WHAT IS A REED BED Reed Beds are a natural way to reduce or eliminate contaminants from fluid sewerage (Effluent) prior to discharge to the environment.
HOW REED BED'S WORK
Normally fed from primary treatment system by gravity harmful toxic substances and particles are removed from the waste. this is done by a combination of ground filtration of particles and absorption by the reed's of harmful chemicals Well Designed Reed bed systems will remove up to > 95% of the harmful content of waste and the final discharge water being safe for outflow to land or water courses
